History of Guiding Yunwu Tea
“Every genus in Guizhou produces tea, and Guiding Yunwu is the most famous.” The Yunwu Tribute Tea Monument, erected in the fifty-fifth year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1790), is still preserved in Guiding Yunwu Mountain, which is also the only one in Guizhou Province. There are tribute teas recorded in both historical records and inscriptions.
In 1993, Guiding Yunwu Tea became the tea for receiving foreign guests. In 1997, Mr. Zhao Puchu, President of the Buddhist Association of China, inscribed “Buddha Tea” after tasting the tea.
Quality characteristics of Guiding Yunwu tea
Guiding Yunwu tea is a curly-shaped fried green tea. Because the early production area was in Niaowangguan, it was once known as Niaowang tea, and because of its shape like a fish hook, it is also known as fish hook tea.
Guiding Yunwu tea is curly and velvety, and the color is silvery green; the soup after brewing is green and yellow, clear, fragrant, strong and refreshing; the bottom of the leaves is green, slightly yellow and bright.
